HLT64121 Advanced Diploma of Nursing
HERC are pleased to offer the HLT64121 Advanced Diploma of Nursing commencing in September 2024.
This qualification reflects the role of enrolled nurses with advanced skills who work in a specialised area of nursing practice under the direct or indirect supervision of a registered nurse.
Enrolled nurses integrate and adapt specialised, technical and theoretical knowledge to address a diverse range of clinical situations and challenges in their area of specialisation. They contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical practice using research and participation in broader organisational quality processes. Enrolled nurses retain responsibility for their own actions while remaining accountable to the registered nurse for all delegated functions.

This qualification will be delivered using a combination of online-based delivery and other student participation and engagement methods. Students will be assisted by a HERC Nurse Educator who will provide them with ongoing support throughout their course, online and in person (when required).
Sections of the course will need to be demonstrated in the HERC simulation lab (182 Macquarie Street, Hobart). This will be organised with each student once they have completed the knowledge requirements of the course.
Clinical Placement is a mandatory part of this course.
Placement is undertaken after all theory and simulated practical assessments of the training have been completed.
Placement can be undertaken in your current workplace under RN supervision where clinically appropriate, or alternatively, HERC can organise a clinical placement for you in a suitable facility. Please note: If a clinical placement needs to be organised by HERC, an additional fee may apply.
