The Diploma of Nursing qualification requires a commitment to regular attendance to your learning, simulated practice, comprehensive assessment, preparation for the Nursing work environment and clinical work placements.

HERC/ANMEC aims to produce graduates that demonstrate a commitment to the promotion of the profession of Nursing. We ask questions to inquire about your interest and commitment in wanting to enter this career, as a process to check that applicants have made the right choice.

Acceptance into this course is dependent on your commitment to meet the clinical placement hours requirement for the course. There is a total of 12 weeks of full-time clinical work placement, broken into blocks over 18 months. This can include 2 weeks of Aged Care, 8 weeks of Acute Care and 2 weeks of Mental/Primary Health placement. Do you agree to the above requirements for placement in this qualification?(Required)
Students are expected to work across 2 shift times. These are comprised of early shifts or late shifts over the 5-day week. Can you commit to working across this schedule? (as a guide, early shifts may start at 7am and finish at 3pm, late shifts may start at 1pm and finish at 11pm)(Required)
Can you commit to attendance at a clinical placement anywhere in the greater Hobart area?
The successful completion of this course requires students to commit to the training plan, assessment log and timetable which enable a student to progress and gain the qualification. The Diploma of Nursing course is delivered at HERC/ANMEC over 18 months fulltime. Leave is ONLY programmed at the end of the calendar year and covers the Christmas and New Year period. To be accepted into the course you will need to acknowledge and commit to the program time frames. Do you agree to these program timeframes?(Required)

NMBA English Language Skills

HERC are required to gather evidence of the applicant’s ability to demonstrate suitable levels of English proficiency. This is to satisfy the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) English language skills registration standard which is required for eligibility to commence in the program of study. All students entering this program must demonstrate they have achieved the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) specified level of English Language Skills prior to commencing the program.
