2017 Graduation Ceremony

On Tuesday the 17th of October HERC celebrated the graduation of 37 students that completed the Certificate III in Individual Support (Aging, Home and Community) during 2017. Students, HERC staff and family members gathered at the HERC training centre in Hobart to celebrate this significant event.

The group received warm congratulations from Emily Shepherd, Branch Secretary of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (Tasmanian Branch) – the organisation behind the HERC education initiative. These students have completed versatile a dual-specialisation that enables them to seek employment in both Aged Care and Home & Community Care settings. The Tasmanian Government provided course funding for 31 eligible students through the Department of State Growth – Skills Tasmania. Demand for HERC graduates has proven strong with a large portion of past students successfully gaining employment in the care sector.

Another HERC Certificate III in Individual Support (Aging, Home and Community) course will begin in December 2017. The course is run over 18 weeks and involves 3 days per week of attendance. Contact HERC now if you’re interested in training to work in the growing care sector.
